The principle of life Sharing in Flushing 9-19-2007
The principle of life Sharing in Flushing 9-19-2007
- the 7 miracles in the Gospel of John
First Part - the themes of Brother Chen's teaching
the correlation and correspondance btw the 7 days of creation and 7 pentaches
Genesis 1 and Hebrew 11: 3 -
use Hebrew 11:3 - as the key to illustrate Faith
in this structure, there are two cycles, first 3 days, second 3 days, and the 7th
first 3 days: Abel, Enoch, Noah
second 3 days: Abraham, Isaac, and Jocob
7th day: Joseph
- the enriching during the second 3 days and the culmination on the 7th day
- the testimonies of faith is also reveal in these structural cycle
so the summary of the revelation of faith in the process of creations
mostly touched me is the light on the principle of Life in this illustration
- first 3 days: conditions of life til the basic principles of life is manifested
- second 3 days: the deepening and richer manifestation of life, til the full man
- the last day: God's purpose acomplished and the peace, rest and sabath (an illustration of resting life)
most interestingly, these stages also correspond to believer's life, growth:
Abel - the work of the Cross seperates light and darkness : sinners justitification
Enoch - the work of the Cross sperate earthly and heavenly: set our minds on the things above
Noah - the work of the Cross seperate flesh and spirit: deliver us from the flesh
(brother Chen stopped here ... we might hear more about life application in these areas)
when we think about life, we can not help but think of the book of the Gospel of John
which also happens to be the last bible book written according to the written time
Second Part: from Gospel of John see the 7 steps (days) of life through the 7 miracles
John 1:1-5
it's also talked about in the beginning
it's about the Word
it's about Life, and the Life was the light of man (Light)
in the genesis, it told us what God created, but didn't tell us How God created us
but through here, we see a clear thing: that the word is intimately related in this creation process
as we can also find it here: Collosians 1:16 - in Him, through Him and for Him)
interestingly, in the book fo the Gospel of John, also there are 7 signs
(check the timing here)
1- Turning water to wine John 2:1-12 : the transformation from inorganic to organic(life) - the story of the vine
2- healing the noble man's son John 4-46-54: the contrast of the position,/ up and down / Christ's heavenly position
3- healing of the lame person John 5:1-17: Romans 7:23,24,25: the inability of the flesh struggle and Christ deliverance
: suprisingly, we also see the first 3 days, first 3 person in these first 3 signs:
- Light and darkness; heaven and earth; the seperation of the flesh and the spirit
it is even more meaningful to us when we comes to the second group, the next 4 signs; which really speaks to us even as believers
4- 5 bread and 2 fishes John 6:1-13 : Genesis 15:5 - the blessing of Abraham, from one dead person to many seeds
: the blessing of the Cross, the blessing of our Lord; the calling of us to be a blessing to others
5- calm the sea and wind: John 6:6-21: many different view of Isaac - born, sacrifice, marriage and blessing
: the walk with God, the disciple life, many times we fear, yet the Lord is on our boat
6- Blind eyes were opened: John 9:1-41: Jacob's story - from a grabber (see the blessing) to a blesser (bless pharah)
: during our walk and believing God, one day we are coming to a point to really see the darkness in us!
: our eyes are really opened, to see the darkness in us, as the blind man, who never saw the light
7- John 11:1-45 - raising Lazarus for the glory of God and love of Lazarus
: our life one day need to be mold to the image of His Son - life from death
summary of our life need to be like the bread in the hand of our Lord, during our walk with Him, he's always on our boat, one day He's going to open our eyes to see the true and only light; not only so, one day he will raise us from the dead and conform us to the image of His Son so that we might truely live
summary -
In deed all these lessons are wondering, the consistent of God's purpose for all His creation,
hidden from the 7 days of creation
the 7 pentaches in the bible
the 7 signs in the Gospel of John
from these we see the Son of God, and His relationship to us in the light of Life
John 20:30-31
Many other signs therefore Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Crist, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. (John 20:30-31)
may we all the more drawn to Him, love Him and abide in Him that the Father's (our Father) will be done.

in Christ alone (song)
In Christ Alone lyrics
Artist - Newsboys
Album - Various Songs
Lyrics - In Christ Alone
Verse 1:
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
Verse 2:
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift if love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Til on the cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For ev'ry sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ in I live
Verse 3:
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then, bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me
For I am His and He us mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
Verse 4:
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand
a hymn of strengthening during Jan 30, 2007 - Day by day
Verse 1
Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
I've no cause for worry or for fear.
He whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Give unto each day what He deems best;
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.
Verse 2
Ev'ry day the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
He whose name is Counselor and Pow'r.
The protection of His child and treasure,
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
"As your days, your strength shall be in measure,"
This the pledge to me He made.
Verse 3
Help me then in ev'ry tribulation,
So to trust Your promises, O Lord;
That I lose not faith's sweet consolation,
Offered me within Your holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E'er to take, as from a Father's hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till I reach the promised land.

a good devotional about simplicity for the children of God - from mUtmostHisHighest
"And all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of Man shall be accomplished . . . And they understood none of these things." Luke 18:31, 34 God called Jesus Christ to what seemed unmitigated disaster. Jesus Christ called His disciples to see Him put to death; He led every one of them to the place where their hearts were broken. Jesus Christ's life was an absolute failure from every standpoint but God's. But what seemed failure from man's standpoint was a tremendous triumph from God's, because God's purpose is never man's purpose. There comes the baffling call of God in our lives also. The call of God can never be stated explicitly; it is implicit. The call of God is like the call of the sea, no one hears it but the one who has the nature of the sea in him. It cannot be stated definitely what the call of God is to, because His call is to be in comradeship with Himself for His own purposes, and the test is to believe that God knows what He is after. The things that happen do not happen by chance, they happen entirely in the decree of God. God is working out His purposes. If we are in communion with God and recognize that He is taking us into His purposes, we shall no longer try to find out what His purposes are. As we go on in the Christian life it gets simpler, because we are less inclined to say - Now why did God allow this and that? Behind the whole thing lies the compelling of God. "There's a divinity that shapes our ends." A Christian is one who trusts the wits and the wisdom of God, and not his own wits. If we have a purpose of our own, it destroys the simplicity and the leisureliness which ought to characterize the children of God. | ||

a good one forwarded - city life
C. H. SpurgeonFebruary 6Blessing in the CityIf thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, blessed shalt thou be in the city. (Deuteronomy 28:2-3)The city is full of care, and he who has to go there from day to day finds it to be a place of great wear and tear. It is full of noise, and stir, and bustle, and sore travail; many are its temptations, losses, and worries. But to go there with the divine blessing takes off the edge of its difficulty; to remain there with that blessing is to find pleasure in its duties and strength equal to its demands.A blessing in the city may not make us great, but it will keep us good; it may not make us rich, but it will preserve us honest. Whether we are porters, or clerks, or managers, or merchants, or magistrates, the city will afford us opportunities for usefulness. It is good fishing where there are shoals of fish, and it is hopeful to work for our Lord amid the thronging crowds. We might prefer the quiet of a country life; but if called to town, we may certainly prefer it because there is room for our energies.Today let us expect good things because of this promise, and let our care be to have an open ear to the voice of the Lord and a ready hand to execute His bidding. Obedience brings the blessing. 'In keeping his commandments there is great reward.'"
